When we are talking about taxes, starting a new job could often mean a big change to your income and, consequently, in your income tax rate as well. Additionally, that new job of yours may come with unemployment benefits, childcare, insurance, retirement savings, and some other points that need to be noted when filing your tax return.
The same goes when you accept a promotion. A work raise can give you another tax bracket level, increasing the amount you’ll pay on every additional dollar you earn. This is usually a good trade off, but worth being aware of come tax time.
