Republicans’ proposal translates to smaller and somehow restrictive stimulus checks.
While Democrats want to change the limit to who is entitled to get full checks, Republicans’ plan is to minimize the maximum salary requirements and to reduce the amount of stimulus checks as well.
On January 31 (as Forbes stated), 10 senators from the Republican Party asked President Biden to agree with their proposal of sending checks worth $1,000, not $1,400. Under the Republicans’ proposal, those who make up to $40,000 annually as individuals and couples who earn up to $80,000 would get a full $1,000 stimulus payment.
The rest, meaning those who earn more would see a reduction in payments. For individuals earning $50,000 and couples $100,000, there would not be any stimulus checks.
