Situation no. 3: You check the following circumstances
The ‘unlucky trifecta’ might be responsible for your stimulus check issue. Here are those three circumstances:
- You’re paying the consequences for not filing a tax return.
- Also, you ignored the IRS’ ‘Non-Filers’ tool in order to register for the previous stimulus payment by November 21.
- And lastly, you are not receiving any federal benefits like Veterans Affairs benefits, Social Security, or Supplemental Security Income.
If all these circumstances apply to you, Uncle Sam doesn’t have your bank account information nor your actual address on file.
The IRS advises those who find themselves in this situation to claim their stimulus payments as a tax credit as soon as they file their 2020 income tax return.
