Slamming your ex on a social media account

Sharing spicy details about an ex-lover (or friend) on your social media accounts such as Facebook and Instagram could get you sued, especially when what you’re saying about him/her is not 100 percent true.  A lawyer would see that as “defamation.”

According to an attorney and shareholder, Paul H. Cannon, people post all sorts of things on social media, including false statements about certain individuals. Doing so could easily lead to financial loss. Back in 2012, a couple from Texas got 13.8 million dollars richer after a person defamed them on a social media platform.

Just keep your criticisms to yourself. And to avoid the temptation of saying something mean about someone, imagine that person could have been you.
