Local government worker
Politicians have had their fair share of high-profile deaths, but at a local level there’s a surprisingly high fatality rate of 2.6 people per 100,000 workers. Violence was one of the leading causes of workplace deaths, with government workers having a disproportionate number of physical injuries and workplace bullying incidents. There were 265 deaths of local government workers overall in 2017.
