8 Valuables You Didn’t Know Are Better Off in a Safe Deposit Box

1. Your Social Security Card

If your Social Security number gets in the wrong hands, you will face some serious consequences. You would be force to file freeze accounts, disputes, and monitor credit reports in order to recognize the signs of financial fraud. That’s why you should also never, ever keep your Social Security card in your wallet.

Store your S.S. card in a safe deposit box as soon as you can and try to memorize the number before that. You might need it when filling out routine documents.

2. Your vital records

Your vital records such as birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates should also be kept in a safe deposit box. All these vital documents are really hard to replace. So, if you lose one of these, the process of getting them replaced is a long one. The process is kind of difficult too.

And when we say difficult we mean that it will cost you a big chunk of money (not to mention the time spent in government agencies).
