  1. question??? if there is any kind of mistake??overcharge??lost items?? never received the entire shipment?? ONLINE ..IS NOT YOUR CREDIT CARD your best protections???to dispute a charge??

    JUST CURIOUS??

    1. If you have a debit card through your bank, there are also certain guarantees and protection and it depends on the seller’s criteria on disputes.
I always try to use companies like PayPal when I make online purchases when I can.

    2. All these sites are awash with “Do this” or “Don’t do that” click bait titles.
My wife placed all of our purchases on one (1) credit card, over forty years ago, and we have never seen any major issues.
I’ll keep my money one the lady who paid off our mortgage with an interest free credit card.

      1. Yes he’s right but that’s the problem these days there is no common sense. I keep waiting for it to make a comeback !!!

    1. This is great advice if you’re new with credit cards. When I worked at Wells Fargo Bank in the late 90s, there were many people like myself that didn’t know how credit cards worked, per se. It’s where I learned to read the fine print.
Now for younger people (18 and up) there’s so much information about what to do and what NOT to do that wasn’t available back then…

  2. its okay to use your credit card to buy anything. You are using there money and you can dispute any charge and not pay!!!

    1. and thats how many individuals rip off small businesses, its called stealing when you unjustly dispute a charge. Thankfully credit card companies are realizing this when a merchant provides proof. And depending on the amount the business owner can file charges against you with criminal crimes division.

  3. All of these tips and suggestions are interesting but when I win Publishers Clearing House’s $10000,00 A WEEK FOR LIFE I won’t use another credit card again—just cash, cash, cash, (tee-hee) Okay you guys, you can stop laughing now

      1. Like you, my mom used to dream of winning too. She pass away few years ago and I didn’t see PCH bring balloons and a check to her door. Just saying.

        1. For years, after I helped hundreds of defaulted mortgagors save their children’s homes, many asked how they might show their appreciation. I, off-handedly, said: “Just leave me something in your will.” That was 45 years ago and not one probate lawyer has called yet.

        2. Common sense people! Many don’t grow up with CS. So, good advice. Read this: If you can’t pay for it now…you can’t afford it, credit card or not.

  4. you didn’t mention debit cards, I think a number of your items should be a no-no also for debit cards or bank cards.

  5. All nonsense. YOU SHOULD USE YOUR CREDIT CARD FOR ALL EXCEPT THE UNSECURED WEBSITE. THE BOTTOM LINE IS DO NOT BUY ANYTHING IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY. NOWADAYS, USED CREDIT CARD YOU CAN GET AT 1-5% REBATE BACK. THERE IS NO REASON NOT TO USE IT.

  6. Hello–
I notice that you have metal objects such as coins and a padlock lying on top of credit cards. Metal surfaces can easily corrupt magnetic strips on the back of credit cards. I hope you guys knew that before your photographer had the “brilliant” idea of tossing metal objects on top of the pile of credit cards.
