If you want to get in touch with a tax professional, which we highly recommend, you have to do it early. Otherwise, come April, and you’ll find it’s literally impossible to find one that is free. Ideally, you should set an appointment no later than the middle of March. If you don’t, you might need to file an extension.
The closer to the deadline you are, the more tax pros will charge, so you can save up money by filing early. Basically, you’ll avoid the stress of looking for someone who is available during crunch time and pay less in the long run if you start working on your taxes early!
