1. Harris and retirement age
Trump claimed that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris want to raise the age of receiving Social Security retirement benefits. This is completely false!
Harris has never supported the age raise for receiving Social Security. On the contrary, she, multiple times talked about the idea of increasing Social Security benefits.
Two years before she became the Vice President of The United States she co-sponsored a bill called The Social Security Expansion Act. The bill was from Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, and that document would boost Social Security benefits by raising payroll taxes on high earners.
As a U.S. senator in the 2000s, Biden wanted to raise the age of receiving Social Security, but it has nothing to do with Kamala Harris. Also, as a President of the United States, Joe Biden never mentioned this idea again.
