6. Environmental regulations
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said that they did “not expect to seek penalties for violations of routine compliance monitoring, integrity testing, sampling, laboratory analysis, training, and reporting or certification obligations in situations where the EPA agrees that COVID-19 was the cause of the noncompliance.”
So, basically, factories and other polluters can decide whether or not the novel coronavirus will prevent them from meeting certain legal requirements. As a matter of fact, EPA announced that they will not charge this type of companies for “violating select requirements on limiting pollution during the pandemic.”
