The IRS’ Time Frame for Sending Out Your Payment
Some people might receive their checks faster than others based on their method of receiving them. But what about the IRS’ time frame?
Since the second round of checks was rolled out in a short period of time, you’d think the third one will arrive just as quickly. But that’s not the case.
When former President Donald Trump signed December’s stimulus bill, the language in the will only allowed for a 17-day window to send the checks. Because of that, they were littered with errors, meaning that people would have to claim missing money a part of their 2020 taxes.
Now, the IRS will have until December 31, 2021 to send the checks out. Non-filers and taxpayers can claim missing money as a Recovery Rebate Credit in 2022.
