The Unemployment Rate Now

For better or worse, if a low unemployment rate means a recession is coming soon, the U.S. is definitely headed into a recession. The current unemployment rate is at about 3.6% — the lowest level since the early 1970s.

That said, the reason unemployment is so low is because of a booming economy, it’s certainly not impossible to think it could keep falling if the current growth trend never reverses.
