Antikythera, Greece

New residents to Antikythera are offered a monthly stipend of $545 for the first three years by the Greek Orthodox Church to help them settle. In addition, they are given a plot of land and a house for free, which could be particularly attractive to fishermen, stock farmers, builders and bakers.

Greek citizens are preferred, but the church will also consider applicants from abroad to help boost the local population and its economy.
