6. Letting Your Pet Startle Wildlife
Want to take your pet on an adventure with you to a national park? We’re sure they’ll love it, but the wildlife might not.
If your pet makes a lot of noise, considering the time of day, location, the impact that noise has on other park users, and other factors could put you in trouble according to The Code of Federal Regulations (Section 2.17 (4)).
Of course, it may be difficult to, for example, keep your dog quiet. In that case, you have to be mindful of these rules and opt to take your furry friend to a dog park instead of a national park, out of respect for nature and other people around you.
7. Fibbing About the Weather
The weatherman may be wrong from time to time… but people could get in a lot of trouble if they mislead the public about the weather.
Say you publish a weather forecast and then lie about getting the data from the National Weather service. This could not only end you up with a fine but up to 90 days in jail.
In 2019, Donald Trump briefed the nation about Hurricane Dorian’s projected path, on camera, which lead to waves of criticisms since the National Weather Service map had been altered with a Sharpie pen.
The government wants to be seen as reliable, so it’s no wonder that they wouldn’t want anybody to use their brand in bad faith!
