Another lucky state is California. Thanks to two years of budget surplus, residents of California might have some relief from humongous gas prices over this summer. Gavin Newsom proposed sending debit cards to car owners beginning early in July. There will be one debit card per car, with a limit of two per household. $400 will be used for the fuel.
He also announced a $286 billion budget for 2022.
4. Georgia
Residents who paid their 2020 and 2021 taxes are eligible for a rebate from the state’s tax surplus. The state governor approved payments based on tax filing status and the conditions are: single filers or filers who are married separately will receive $250; heads of the family will receive $375; and married couples who filed jointly will receive $500.
Great news indeed! Residents could expect the amount to be added to their tax refund if they filed before. Every bit counts in these hard times!
