5. The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) System
Unless you happen to have a job as an HVAC professional, you will not be able to inspect or repair your home’s HVAC system by yourself. It is a complex system which controls almost everything in your home: from heat and cooling to the circulation of air throughout the house.
At some point, you’ll most likely have to buy new units. Also, replacing the furnace and air conditioner filters frequently keeps the machines running more efficiently. Note that homeowners with gas furnaces should have them inspected at least once a year. Fortunately, in many areas, this important service is provided at no charge.
