6. Bundle your policies
Companies that offer multiple types of policies (such as auto, home, life, and boat insurance) also provide discounts when you bundle your policies with them. The discounts vary but can add up to a few hundred dollars. For example, Nationwide typically offers a 20% discount on homeowner’s insurance when it’s bundled with auto insurance. With Progressive, it’s around 7%.
It’s going to take more time to get quotes from new companies, as you’ll have to provide information about your home and automobiles, but in the end, it might be worth it.
