1. During the ‘80s, the CIA helped facilitate the sale of cocaine in Los Angeles to finance the covert war in Nicaragua. Also, the journalist who uncovered the entire story, Gary Webb, mysteriously died from ‘suicide’ with two gunshots in the head.
2. We all know the CIA did experiments on humans at some point. The ‘Operation Midnight Climax’ program, though, was a whole different thing.
During the ‘50s, CIA agents paid prostitutes in San Francisco to lure men to certain so-called safe houses. There, they used LSD to drug the subjects without their consent and they would watch them engage in sexual activities with the prostitutes.
The agency later tried to destroy every record of the program, but some of them lived to tell the tale.
