Calling for backup

After he made the statement the police started to call for backup and sent an evacuation warning, with multiple members of their forces being injured after the supporters started to throw  metal objects at them. You can only imagine what could have happened if one of those metal objects hurt badly any of  those who were present.

Several minutes later the protesters forced their way into the Capitol, a police officer declared it a riot. This whole scene was happening while the Senate was officially trying to certify the election results, the Secret Service quickly evacuating then vice-president Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi from the floor. Meanwhile, the rioters were asking for Pence to be “hanged”.
