The agency’s Disability Determination Service employees, who actually decide if people qualify for either disability or SSI benefits, diminished by 16% between 2010 and 2021. And when it comes to losing the staff, Kansas is one of them.

In fact, it is one of the most affected. Researchers say that it’s likely that recently retired workers will consider returning to work. The effects of the service delays are far reaching, and people who are not even beneficiaries rely on Social Security for just the basic routine services.

This situation is pretty similar to the other states mentioned before. And without any foundation, unfortunately, the situation won’t get better.
