There’s an Income Limit for the Third Stimulus Check
The last words you might want to hear in association with a stimulus check are ‘income limit’. But that’s exactly what you can expect from the third checks that are coming in. That’s because this time around they are supposed to target lower- and middle-income households.
That means that if you are at a higher income level, you may be restricted from receiving the $1,400. If your adjusted gross income is at least $80,000 a year, you would hit the payment cutoff. The same goes for heads of households with earnings of $120,000 and couples filing jointly with an adjusted gross income of $160,000.
For dependents, things run differently as they could still qualify for the $1,400. If you have dependents and you’ve reached the upper limit, you wouldn’t receive a partial check, however, unlike with the first two stimulus checks.
