Woman Sues Google Maps for Bad Directions

Do you ever wonder every now and then how people managed to get things done without technology? Take maps for example. Reading a paper map seems like rocket science nowadays. We now have Google maps and go from point A to point B in no time, have all the information to know exactly how many hours from one location to another, ETD, ETA and the like.

But even Google maps cannot help everyone. Like Lauren Rosenberg. When the Utah resident wanted to walk from 96 Daly Street, Park City, Utah, to 1710 Prospector Avenue, Park City, Utah, using Google Maps as her guide, things got messy. That’s because part of the directions she received from Google involved a half-mile walk down Deer Valley Drive. Imagine arriving there and realizing there’s no way you can walk through Deer Valley Drive because it is also Utah State Route 224.

Despite having no sidewalk to use, Rosenberg continued her journey along the heavy traffic highway and unfortunately ended up getting hit by one. She demanded $100,000, claiming the directions were wrong and unsafe. Route 224 was clearly marked by Google as a major highway, not the mention there were various side roads she could have opted for instead.

Man Sues Park for Not Labeling Bathrooms Well Enough

Sometimes nature calls in the most inappropriate moments. Imagine being at a concert, in the middle of the crowd with an urging need to relieve yourself. That’s what happened to Robert Glaser Back in 1995, while attending a Billy Joel Concert at Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego. When he finally reached the bathrooms (unisex ones, might we add), he saw a woman using a urinal to pee. Needless to say, his little problem suddenly turned into a much bigger one.

Women seemed to have invaded every restroom he went to, so he decided to hold it in for four hours. He later invoked “emotional distress” and “embarrassment” in his complaint against the stadium and the city of San Diego and asked for $5.4 million in damages. Sure enough, he lost.
