4. David Jennings

This is probably one of the first cases of this sort. In 1899, David Jennings the treasurer of Labette County, Kansas, allegedly refused to accept a tax payment he made to himself (Bear with me).

He took  this case to the court and won! Yes, indeed. The court agreed that he shouldn’t be obligated to pay any taxes to himself.

If you, just like us, kept asking ”What?!” every few seconds, then we know how you must be feeling.

5. Oreste Lodi

Brace yourself for this case. Oreste Lodi sued himself because he tried to retrieve a property from himself which he wouldn’t let himself manage. Yes, we are as disturbed as you are.

The court obviously dismissed the case, but that didn’t stop him from making an appeal. At the appeal he brought two documents, one supporting him to obtain the estate and one against it. (Whaaat?!!).

The appeal was dismissed as well and he was asked to pay for the appeal, both of them actually, the defendant and the plaintiff.
