Getting hit by another driver
Now you may think, how on earth could I get sued based on this… Well, even though you’re not guilty, it doesn’t mean you can carry on. This could happen when you don’t meet some law requirements, and by this, we refer to “underinsured motorist” coverage.
As stupid as it may sound to you, creditors can actually sue you if you’re involved in an accident caused by someone else. If the guilty driver doesn’t have enough car insurance or no insurance at all, you’ll most likely face the consequences.
A personal injury lawyer, Andrew Winters, says that if your car insurance is not enough to cover the difference, creditors are entitled to sue you.
Make sure you opt for an umbrella insurance policy, which most likely has the underinsured motorist part covered.
