Tagging someone else in a picture posted on a social media platform

An attorney with the Kenmore Law Group, Kevin Adkins, notes that tagging someone else in a picture you just posted on Facebook can get you sued. If you don’t have the permission of that person, legally speaking, you cannot tag him/her.

Let’s say you tagged a friend in a picture you took at a party… If he/she got fired from the job because he/she wasn’t supposed to be there during work hours, it’s your “fault,” and he/she has the right to sue you. So, to avoid getting sued, just ask for permission before posting/tagging someone in a picture, no matter if it’s compromising or not.
