Florida has its perks… in the end, it’s called the Sunshine State for a reason. Still, apart from being a sunny state, Florida offers so much more. For instance, there are virtually no taxes on unemployment compensation in Florida.

Regarding the state income tax, there’s no tax either. However, your blissful dream can be easily ruined by Florida sales tax. The state imposes a 6 percent levy, and localities can again change that by adding as much as 2.5 percent to the existing rate. As per the Tax Foundation stats, the average combined rate in Florida is 7.08 percent, and depending on who you ask, it’s whether low or high.
