11. COVID-19 Phone Scams
Just like any other organization or institution, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is not going to call you and under no circumstances will ask you for donations. This type of phone call is also known as ‘government impersonation fraud,’ meaning that scammers act as government officials for illegal purposes.
Remember that federal agencies do not ask for donations. So, if someone calls you pretending that the CDC needs your help in order to combat the pandemic, do not give your personal, Social Security number, or bank information over the phone.
The only thing you can do to help the agency is to wear a mask and keep the social distance.

One very good wasy to get rid of the grandchild call is to ask for his or her middle name. They will immediately hang up.
Another scam is a call telling you your computer has a virus and they can get rid of it for you when indeed they are putting the virus in and charging you big bucks to get rid of it, then later calling you telling you they can’t fix it and is going to return your money. Instead they wind up taking more money.
