Like we mentioned before, if you decide to move to one of these states, you should also know how the other taxes are going to affect your pocket. For example, New Hampshire has some shocking taxes when it comes to real estate, and Oregon has high income taxes, going as far as 10%, in some cases.

Let’s see which states have ZERO sales taxes:

1. Alaska

Although in Alaska there are no state sales taxes, certain districts can collect sales taxes. These sometimes go as high as 7.5%, but the average remains 1.70%. In addition, there’s also no state income tax.

Unfortunately, the property taxes are above the national average, the tax rate being around $1,100 per $100,000 of assessed home value.

2. Delaware

There are no state or local taxes in Delaware. The income tax is between 2% and 6%. The property taxes are very small, the rate is $562 per $100,000 of assessed home value.

(Not so)Fun fact: Salem County, which borders Delaware, has sales taxes.

3. Montana

Overall, Montana doesn’t have state sale taxes. However, some resorts do have local sales taxes. The income tax ranges from 1% up to 6%. The average property tax rate is $831 per $100,000.

Starting this year, the highest rate will be 6.75% on taxable income per $17,400.
