4. New Hampshire
There are no state sales taxes in New Hampshire either. There is also no income tax, but there’s a 5% tax on dividends and interest in excess of $2,400 for individuals and $4,800 for joint filers.
The property tax rate is HUGE compared to the previous states, having $2,050 for every $100,000 of assessed home value. In full honesty, there had to be some sort of compensation for the fact that there are no state or income taxes in New Hampshire.
So, if technically it says no taxes for some things, in the end, you would still have to pay almost the same amount of money, but for different aspects.
5. Oregon
Oregon is another example of a state with no state sales tax. However, the income tax range can be as low as 4.75% or as high as 10%, which, unlike the previous states, is A LOT!
Counties and some districts are allowed to impose local income taxes. The average tax rate for homeowners is around $900 for every $100,000 of assessed home value.
