The Australian-born American businessman, investor, and media tycoon, Rupert Murdoch, paid his second wife, Anna (a news-media journalist) $1.7 billion back in 1999. Their marriage lasted 32 years when, one day, they decided to call it quits.
The divorce happened in California, and it was a “take it or leave it” deal. Unsurprisingly, infidelity led to their divorce, and maybe that’s why Rupert Murdoch was so “eager” to give Anna her $1.7 billion. He had an affair with Wendi Deng, a female executive employed by Star TV (one of Rupert’s businesses).
Without even letting the dust settle on the marriage that literally ended, just 17 days after the divorce, he married Wendi, the woman with whom he cheated on Anna. Approximately 14 years later, Rupert Murdoch agrees with wife no. 3’s settlement, his current wife being Jerry Hall, an American model, and actress.
