Divorce settlement: $874 million
Adnan and Soraya married back in 1961, calling it quit in 1974. Their 13-years-old marriage resulted in five children (4 sons and one daughter) and a fortune. And although Adnan was pretty famous in the Arabic and western worlds for his thriving businesses, the divorce with Soraya took his reputation to a whole new level.
Not too long after filing for divorce, she demanded $2.54 billion, saying that she was the one who helped Adnan in making his fortune, so she’s more than entitled to receive the amount of money she asked for. However, she couldn’t get away with $2.54 billion but $874 million.
