8. Flipping off a cop

Just like swearing and cursing, making rude gestures at a cop or any law enforcement officer is considered inappropriate, but it’s not illegal. While your rude gestures could result in a ticket, it won’t give you jail time. Your First Amendment rights protect you from ending up in jail.

A couple of years ago, a driver in Denver flipped off a cop, and the American Civil Liberties Union said back then that it might be disrespectful and rude to flip off a cop, but it’s most definitely not a crime. So, yeah, it’s not a crime, but we suggest you not do it.

  1. This is not correct, its called “public Intoxication” and even if you are not completely intoxicated, that is how it will be filed. Your only recourse is a lab test which will likely reveal any illegal substances in your system. If you beat the drunk test the cop will claim you were intoxicated and mearly recovered due to the time it took to get the test. If you have anything in your system you will be charged and you will loose. I have seen this happen to several of the employees that have worked for me.
