3. You don’t live at the same address anymore

If you’re about to get your third stimulus payment as a paper check or as a debit card by mail instead of direct deposit payment, Uncle Sam has to send you the amount of money to the address he knows. So, if you don’t live at the same address anymore and the taxman doesn’t know your new address, he will send your money to the wrong address.

There’s a possibility, though, that the U.S. Postal Service has informed the IRS about your new address, meaning that your third stimulus check may eventually appear in your mailbox. But, again, this means even more time added to the delay.

  1. I am 76 years old and I depend on my SS Check every month. It is what I survive with when it arrives if it ever arrives. I don’t understand why it takes so long to arrive. Thank you if you send me a response.
    Sincerely,
    Iris B.
