Documents You Didn’t Know You Need for Your Taxes

As you may well know, you are eligible for some deductions. You need to bring the documentation that you have regarding some Expenses such as the following:

• Records of state or local taxes that you’ve paid

• Any medical or dental bills

• If you’re an educator, records of any supplies that you used

• Expenses for your child

• If you own a home, mortgage statements and property tax bills are relevant

• Any retirement contributions that you’ve made

What other documents do I need?

You will also need:

• The IRS Notice 1444 for your stimulus check

• The IRS Letter 6475 for your stimulus check

• If you had health coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace

• Any document from the IRS or your state tax agency
