7. Stop using your credit cards
Don’t rely too much on credit cards! It’s simple: if you keep using your credit card, you’ll quickly find yourself in a lot of debt. Carrying debt means limiting how much money you have each month to pay bills, save for retirement, or work toward other financial goals.
In addition to creating a budget so that you don’t have to buy certain things on credit, you should switch to cash or debit cards to avoid accumulating more debt, open a short-term savings account and draw from them for large expenses (such as rent), or just leave your credit card at home.
