4. Anything you don’t own

Of course, you cannot give what you don’t own. So, make sure your will doesn’t include things that aren’t in your possession. Things like leased cars or hire purchased items that don’t officially belong to you, cannot be gifted.

5. Life insurance

These things have their own specific rules, and they will automatically go to your spouse or the person who is the beneficiary.

6. Avoid the illegal gifts

This may sound strange, but some people will try to sneak some things into their will which aren’t that legal so to speak. So if you intend to leave your holiday house and the whole backyard for your nephew to grow a cannabis plantation, it’s definitely the worst idea!

Make sure everything you write in your will is perfectly legal and follows procedure.
