Haven’t Received Your Stimulus Check? Here’s What You Can Do

Possible reasons why you haven’t received your stimulus:

  1. Your bank kept it due to a negative account balance.
  2. A credit collection agency grabbed it.
  3. You don’t have a SS number.
  4. You are not a resident in the U.S.
  5. You don’t earn enough to file a federal tax return.
  6. You are late on child support payments.
  7. The IRS has old bank account info on file.
  8. Your stimulus payment is in a temporary account made by a tax-prep service.
  9. You typically earn way too much money.

If that’s not the case…

The IRS wants us to be patient…

While we can’t spread patience on bread just like we do with peanut butter and jelly, the IRS still wants us to remain calm. Easier said than done.

“Mailed payments will require more processing and mailing time,” the IRS said. Uncle Sam also added that “those who reside abroad will have longer wait times for checks as disruptions to air travel and mail delivery in certain countries will slow delivery.”

In an attempt to calm the spirits, the taxman continued saying that some people who have received their first stimulus payments will probably get a card this round, while some who have received a card the first time could see a check now.

If you’re one of those with an EIP card, you will see the Visa name on the front of the card and MetaBank, N.A., the issuing bank, on the back of it.
