New York

  • Annual marijuana use: 15.4 percent

The 56th governor of New York, Andrew Mark Cuomo, had several attempts to legalize cannabis. Back in 2019, the state legislature was pretty close to pass a bill regarding recreational marijuana legalization. However, it didn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel because they were unable to come up with a tax plan.

A close advisor of Gov. Andrew Cuomo stated that he would attempt again at the beginning of the year 2021.

Taking into consideration that New Jersey has legalized recreational marijuana, New York now has three border states (New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Vermont) in which adults can smoke cannabis for recreational purposes.

  1. I would like separate dispensaries for the recreational people. Alot of time what I am looking for is sold out because of the recreational people who their just to get high . I’m not . I am sure their won’t be as much product sold out .I got for medical reasons ,pain inflammation, anxiety ,focus .I think patience should have patient only dispensaries. Patients priority first is all we get in line now .Their is still a much longer wait because recreational people shop longer it seem to me and buy more at one time .I left a dispensery I really liked because this problem . Now I have to run all over to get what I am looking for . Patient only dispensaries . Not happy 😒
