Rhode Island
- Annual marijuana use: 20.7 percent
Just like other states we’ve mentioned in this article, the Ocean State lawmakers tried to legalized cannabis for recreational purposes this year. Still, everything went up in smoke when the coronavirus situation started.
The Gov. of Rhode Island, Gina Marie Raimondo, will most likely try again next year.
The Ocean State allows medical marijuana since 2006. Plus, cannabis amounts of up to 1 ounce were decriminalized seven years ago. Besides, annual marijuana use among Rhode Island adults is the 8th highest in America. All in one, everything indicates that this state is prone to legalize recreational marijuana in the near future.
