How reliable is it to own a safe deposit box?
A safe deposit box has a long list of advantages. But the vast majority of people tend to store their important documents and other valuable items in a safe deposit because of the security and disaster protection it guarantees. If you don’t have a safe deposit, you should definitely consider opening one.
Also, note that a safe in your home is not in your best interests as most of them can be susceptible to water damage and fire. And, that’s not all: they are also more prone to theft. However, taking into consideration our current situation, it’s best to have them both.
Wondering why? Because Bank of America for example, has temporarily closed some branches. So, rather than keeping all of your documents at the bank, select the ones you actually need more often and put them in your home safe and the ones that are rarely used, store them in your safe deposit box.
