Ohio: Police Officers and Dogs
Now, let’s switch it up a bit and talk about something else. For the state of Ohio, let’s discuss something that you’d think is illegal, but it is actually not only allowed but encouraged.
Here, if a police officer believes that a dog is out of control, he or she may bite it if they think this will deescalate a situation.
Now, in no situation do I personally believe that this would be helpful, and I sure wish I had an explanation for this, but I can’t offer you one. It’s strange and dangerous, and we would advise anyone (police officer or not) to never bite an angry dog!
