You may think it is beyond unacceptable for a teacher to raise his or her hand at a student, especially in times where everyone is adopting a ,,politically correct” mindset.
Despite that, in 19 states from across the U.S, corporal punishment in schools is accepted and in 15 is practiced. A study from 2014 showed that every 30 seconds a student is being ,,physically disciplined”.
Even though the American Academy of Pediatrics advised parents and teachers not to struck children because it can have a negative impact on them, the statistics are still concerning.
These actions are illegal in Europe, Canada and New Zealand.
