Texas: You Won’t Believe Your Eyes
OK, this one is a bit different too, but we decided to include it on our list in order to get rid of some misconceptions. If you’ve heard of freaky laws before, then you may have heard that in Texas it’s illegal to sell your own eyebrows.
But that doesn’t even come close to painting the whole story. The whole story is right there in the Texas Penal Code Section 48.02, which states that it’s against the law to sell human organs.
This means that you can’t sell your own organs, including your eyes, lungs, heart, liver, kidneys, and so on.
So, no, Texas isn’t this wacky state in which the law states that you SPECIFICALLY can’t sell your eyeballs. Glad we could clear that up!
