Hawaii

The Aloha State also has a pretty steep beer tax at 93¢ per gallon, and if you want to enjoy a nice glass of wine you’re going to pay an extra $1.50 per gallon. Worse, that price goes up significantly for sparkling wine such as Moscato or Prosecco at $2.12 per gallon. Yikes!

If you’re ever in Maui and are looking for a beer with a Hawaiian touch, check out the Kohola Brewery. Located in the heart of Lahaina and founded by homebrewers, they add lilikoi, coconut, or pineapple to their brews that will truly make you feel as though you’re in paradise.

The Kona Brewing Co. is a big name brand famous in Hawaii which has been around for 25 years. Nowadays, their “liquid alohas” are produced in Portland, Oregon, or Fort Collins, Colorado, since the brand has been bought by Craft Brew Alliance in 2010. Don’t worry, the taste has stayed the same ever since!
