Idaho imposes a 6 percent levy, but localities can also add 3 percent to that. Furthermore, food is taxable as well, however, the Gem State wants to change that. The lowest income tax rate is 1.125 percent on up to $3,082 of taxable income when it comes to married joint filers and $1,541 for single filers.

The highest rate is 6.925 percent on more than $23,108 of taxable income for those who are married and file jointly and over $11,554 for single filers.

Here, if you want to own a home, you’ll have to pay $719 per $100,000 of assessed home value. Still, there’s no estate or inheritance tax.
